Across our company we have vast experience in many sectors providing a variety of services and skills to companies around the world. Here are some samples of the projects we have worked on.
Since 1976, we have designed and manufactured industry-leading hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders, accumulators and actuators. Last year saw the successful acquisition of Washington-based Cylinder Service Centre (CSC), which helped to broaden our offering with its specialisms in hydraulic cylinder repair.
Since the acquisition, we have enjoyed rapid growth, with turnover on track to increase 60% from £7.5 million to £12 million year-on-year. It also allowed us to build upon an already successful team by increasing from 96 to 110 across our Huddersfield and Washington facilities.
We are delighted to announce that with the support of Lloyds bank we have managed to purchase CSC’s currently rented premises, helping to pave the way for further expansion at the site, and bring key operations, such as boring and honing services, in-house.
Simon Wadsworth, Managing Director at Hystat, said: “Our products are playing an increasingly critical role in supporting the transition to green and renewable energy sources, so it’s very important that we continue exploring opportunities to expand and diversify our offering. Through this purchase, and through the additional financial firepower it lends us, we can ramp up activity across key services and significantly grow our output, helping us to support engineering best practice across a growing customer base.”
Throughout 2021 we have remained fully committed to investing in our future and have seen significant growth in our apprenticeship and internal training schemes.
Our recent apprentice intake of along with our previous intake of apprentices, are making a positive contribution in many areas and are now taking differing routes within Hystat.
The apprenticeship scheme continues to produce a high calibre of personnel. Many of the Senior Management Team followed the apprenticeship route.
We believe that Hystat Systems Ltd & The Cylinder Service Centre have the best-dedicated repair & maintenance facilities in the UK.
These 18-tonne Ladle Turntable Lift Cylinders deserved our joint collaborative effort to ensure that they returned to steel mill duty working better than new!
Both cylinders were collected, fully stripped, thoroughly cleaned and 100% inspected before a detailed report was prepared and liaised for any rework. The repairs included re-honed barrel bores, linished piston rods, remanufactured bronze bearings, all studs and fasteners were replaced, completely resealed and new heat-resistant rod bellows.
Finally, the cylinders were reassembled, pressure tested, repainted and successfully delivered back to site and importantly, back in service.
We manufacture and supply to the following industries; Steel & Aluminium, Marine Offshore, Subsea, Shipboard, Industrial, Power Generation, Minerals & Mining, Nuclear, Railway & more.
